SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary Special School (Reading)

About the role
This full‑time temporary position supports a highly regarded primary special school in Reading, working with pupils who have social, emotional, mental health and trauma‑related needs. You will join a warm, inclusive team dedicated to making a real difference every day.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with SMH needs and trauma backgrounds.
- Create a safe, consistent, and engaging learning environment.
- Build strong, positive relationships that enable children to thrive.
- Assist pupils in regulating emotions, learning and achieving success.
Required profile
- Passion for making a genuine difference in children’s lives.
- Ability to work within a specialist primary setting supporting SEN pupils.
- Commitment to the school’s inclusive, supportive ethos.
Required skills
- Experience or training in supporting pupils with social, emotional, mental health or trauma‑related needs.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
