Senior Account Director

About the role

This senior position sits within a leading commercial insurance broking group in Bristol. You will inherit a well‑established UK client portfolio and work alongside a dynamic broking team, with hybrid working flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop an established portfolio of mid‑market to large corporate and international clients.
• Lead the end‑to‑end renewal process, including market negotiations and client presentations.
• Identify organic growth opportunities and cross‑refer work to specialist teams.
• Act as a trusted risk adviser to senior and board‑level stakeholders across a range of commercial lines.
• Collaborate with internal specialists on complex, bespoke, and international placements.
• Ensure full FCA regulatory compliance and uphold high governance standards.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a senior Account Executive or Account Director in commercial insurance broking.
• Experience managing complex client portfolios, from mid‑market to large corporate risks.
• Strong technical knowledge of core commercial insurance lines; international experience is a plus.
• Board‑level communication skills with the gravitas to act as a genuine risk adviser.
• Strategic, proactive, and self‑motivated, able to manage a significant book with minimal oversight.
