Senior Accountant / Client Manager

About the role

A solid, forward-thinking accounting practice in Stoke-on-Trent, expanding thanks to strong client retention and organic growth in new business, is looking for a Senior Accountant / Client Manager. The role reports directly to the Board of Directors and involves managing a client portfolio of around £400k, including meeting monthly billing targets. The advertised pay is £48,000 to £55,000.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a client portfolio of approximately £400k, including responsibility for achieving monthly billing targets.
• Plan and manage work in progress.
• Supervise and train a team, including skills appraisals.
• Take part in monthly management meetings to drive operational improvements and support employee engagement.
• Review financial statements and corporate tax returns.
• Carry out ad-hoc special projects as required.

Required profile

• ACCA or ACA qualified with practice experience (at least three years post-qualification).
• Ability to report to the Board of Directors and manage a team.
