Senior Accountant – Client Services (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a leading international professional services firm in Didcot. Working hybrid (three days in‑office, two days remote), you will act as the primary accounting contact for a portfolio of up to four high‑profile clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a client portfolio, providing day‑to‑day accounting and financial advice.
• Prepare year‑end statutory accounts and monthly/quarterly management accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies, ensure accuracy of financial records and support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Review bookkeeping, supplier invoices, accounts payable and payment activity.
• Prepare FCA regulatory returns and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House filing requirements.
• Lead and develop two Client Services Accountants.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice or client‑accounting role.
• Hands‑on experience preparing statutory and management accounts from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and exposure to budgeting, forecasting and VAT submissions.
• Ability to manage direct reports and meet client deadlines.
• Newly or nearly qualified (ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
