Senior Accountant (Harrogate)

About the role

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their busy team in Harrogate. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high‑quality financial statements, tax returns and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and take responsibility for an own portfolio of clients.
• Prepare and review complex company financial statements.
• Prepare and review interim management accounts.
• Prepare and review personal tax returns and partnership accounts.
• Review and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners.
• Train staff members and allocate duties.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with strong practice experience (newly qualified or experienced Accounts Senior/Assistant Manager).
• Ability to independently manage workload and support team development.
• Proficient with Office 365, in‑house programs and spreadsheet preparation.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, IRIS, Xero or Quickbooks.
• Proven ability to manage a mixed client portfolio and drive business development.
