Senior Accountant (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with at least one year of post‑qualification experience to join the Accounting & Regulatory Policy team of a leading insurance broker. Based in London with a hybrid working model, you will report to the Head of Accounting & Regulatory Policy and play a key role in shaping the Group’s accounting policy framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Group accounting and regulatory policies.
• Assess and implement new accounting standards and regulatory changes, preparing technical accounting papers.
• Support complex accounting matters, technical calculations, and acquisition accounting for M&A transactions.
• Prepare FCA regulatory returns, ONS submissions and wind‑down planning calculations.
• Contribute to governance, controls, continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with the Accounting & Regulatory Policy and CASS 5 teams.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with a minimum of 1 year PQE.
• Experience in Big 4 audit or Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS/FASS).
• Hands‑on experience auditing insurance brokers – essential.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FCA reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
