Senior Accountant – Newcastle upon Tyne

About the role

The practice is looking for a qualified Senior Accountant to join its Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne office. You will manage a varied portfolio of small and medium‑size clients, delivering accounting, tax and advisory services while supporting the growth of the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory year‑end accounts for diverse clients.
• Manage Corporation Tax, VAT and Self‑Assessment compliance.
• Produce management accounts, budgets and financial forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis and performance insights to aid client decision‑making.
• Mentor junior staff and review their work for accuracy.
• Identify and implement internal process improvements.

Required profile

• ACC A / ACA / CIMA qualified or finalist.
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations.
• Confident in client‑facing environments.
• Highly organised with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
