Senior Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Senior Accounts Assistant to join our growing finance team in Maidstone. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our purchase and sales ledgers, payroll and financial reviews. The role offers exposure to a multinational environment and the chance to develop your finance expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the purchase ledger: process daily invoices, match to purchase orders, allocate correct nominal codes and run the monthly payment cycle.
• Handle supplier enquiries, request missing documentation and reconcile expense claims.
• Oversee the sales ledger: raise customer invoices, prepare payment requests and conduct credit control via phone and email.
• Support payroll administration and contribute to regular financial reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience in both purchase and sales ledger processing.
• Good understanding of payroll administration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while supporting the wider team.
• A can‑do attitude and willingness to assist in other finance areas are essential.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
