Senior Accounts Manager – Leadership Role

About the role

This senior position is for an experienced accounting professional who wants to move beyond day‑to‑day technical work and have genuine influence on a fast‑growing accountancy and business advisory firm. You will work closely with directors and partners, overseeing a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses while shaping the firm’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, partnerships and limited companies, providing trusted commercial advice.
• Review statutory accounts, tax work and management accounts prepared by the wider team.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior staff, delivering regular coaching and technical support.
• Conduct file reviews to ensure high technical standards across the team.
• Collaborate with directors to improve departmental performance and efficiencies.
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and strengthen client relationships.
• Support networking and business development initiatives to drive firm growth.
• Assist with KPI reporting and operational improvements.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or experienced QBE professional) with a strong background in UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing both people and client portfolios.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams and develop future managers.
