Senior Analyst, LNG

About the role

LSEG D&A Commodity Research is looking for a Senior Analyst, LNG to join its Global Gas Research team. The team delivers market data, develops and supports fundamental supply, demand and price forecast models, and publishes in-depth reports on the natural gas market for producers, importers, distributors, traders and financial and governmental institutions. The role is at Senior Associate level.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret complex market data to deliver actionable insights and forward-looking forecasts.
• Deliver robust, data-driven views on short-, medium- and long-term LNG market fundamentals.
• Develop and maintain in-house market models, with continuous technological development.
• Improve internal research tools, processes and production environments, ensuring data quality, accuracy, timeliness and completeness.
• Support improvements to the content and design of analytical tools, charts and tables.
• Monitor LNG trade flows as part of a rotation and ensure the data is of good quality.
• Build client relationships by attending client meetings and answering queries on market, content, analytics, reports and quantitative models.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in data analysis of supply and demand commodity fundamentals.
• Natural curiosity and a detailed, structured approach, able to synthesise and explain in-depth analysis.
• BA, BSc or Master's degree, or relevant experience in commodities markets.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Experience developing fundamental models and in the global LNG market is preferable.

Required skills

• Strong grounding in statistics and/or operational research.
• Programming skills in MATLAB, Python or R.
• Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
