Senior Android Developer – Kotlin, Jetpack

About the role

We are a fast‑growing London startup transforming education with machine‑learning‑powered tutoring. After a successful iOS launch, we need a Senior Android Developer to build a brand‑new Android app from the ground up and shape a product that will reach millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development of the Android application, defining architecture and tech stack.
• Design and implement a scalable mobile solution capable of handling millions of users.
• Set engineering best practices, clean‑code standards, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to embed models into the mobile experience.
• Develop features that process rich media types such as text, audio, video, and images.
• Work closely with product, backend, iOS, and design teams to deliver a cohesive product.

Required profile

• Proven experience building Android apps from scratch.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Deep knowledge of coroutines, concurrency, and multithreading.
• Strong background in architecture design and trade‑off decisions.
• Solid understanding of clean code, REST/HTTPS API integration, and scalable mobile development.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• University degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Computer Science from a top‑tier institution.
