Senior Associate / Legal Director (Private Wealth Disputes)

About the role

Birketts LLP is seeking a Senior Associate / Legal Director to join its Private Wealth Disputes team in Ipswich. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality legal services to high‑net‑worth clients and will contribute to the strategic growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
• Lead and manage complex private wealth disputes, including trusts, estates, inheritance claims, professional negligence and Court of Protection matters.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of legal advice, pleadings, and court submissions.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and the firm’s strategic direction.
• Mentor junior lawyers and support collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with several years of experience in private wealth or high‑value dispute work.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to manage high‑stakes transactions.
• Strong client‑facing skills and a track record of building long‑term relationships.
• Leadership qualities and experience supervising junior staff.

• Expertise in private wealth disputes, trusts, probate and related litigation.
• Excellent analytical and drafting abilities.
• Proficiency in case management and legal research tools.
