Senior AWS Platform Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a software company that builds mission‑critical platforms for financial services, trading firms, and the gambling sector. As a Senior AWS Platform Engineer you will act as a technical leader, shaping the architecture of secure, compliant, and highly available cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement secure, scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform and an Infrastructure‑as‑Code approach.
• Design, run, and optimise Amazon EKS clusters and containerised workloads across multiple environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions to enable fast, safe deployments.
• Develop automation tools in Python or Go to reduce manual effort and operational overhead.
• Support and optimise Amazon RDS instances for availability, performance, and security.
• Embed SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, blameless post‑mortems) into platform operations.
• Create monitoring, logging, alerting and observability solutions to detect issues early.
• Design solutions that satisfy security, audit and regulatory requirements for financial, trading and gambling clients.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to improve developer experience and delivery speed.
• Lead technical decisions, set standards and own the platform architecture.

Required profile

• Strong background in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Deep hands‑on experience with AWS services, including networking, IAM and security.
• Commercial experience running Kubernetes in production, preferably Amazon EKS.
• Expert‑level proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
• Proven ability to build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Go beyond basic scripting.
• Solid Linux administration, troubleshooting and performance‑tuning experience.
• Experience with Amazon RDS or similar managed database services.

What we offer
