Senior Building Surveyor – London Property Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to manage refurbishment, redevelopment and professional instructions across a substantial London property portfolio. You will work within a close‑knit consultancy alongside an established property investment business, reporting directly to decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare specifications and schedules of work for tender and manage tender processes.
• Deliver projects as Project Manager, Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent.
• Conduct landlord‑side dilapidations inspections and negotiate claims.
• Diagnose defects in commercial and residential properties.
• Review tenant alteration proposals and inspect completed works.
• Produce planned maintenance reports and capital expenditure plans.
• Prepare schedules of condition and undertake party wall work.
• Advise on energy‑efficiency legislation and EPC requirements.

Required profile

• MRICS qualification with strong post‑qualification experience.
• Degree in Building Surveying.
• Experience in private practice or client‑side roles covering commercial and residential surveying.
• Proven contract administration and project delivery expertise.
• Experience with dilapidations, defect diagnosis and party wall matters.
• Ability to manage clients, contractors, tenants and other stakeholders.

Required skills

• NBS working knowledge.
• AutoCAD (beneficial).

What we offer

• Salary £50,000 – £65,000 per year.
