About the role
As a Senior Care Assistant in a Barchester care home you will help deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents. Working alongside the Deputy General Manager, you will lead a team of Care Assistants and support the clinical team in key areas such as medication, assessments and care planning.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and inspire a team of dedicated Care Assistants.
- Assist the Deputy General Manager with daily operational duties.
- Support the clinical team with medication administration, resident assessments, care plans and care reviews.
- Maintain a warm, welcoming environment that respects each resident’s dignity and preferences.
Required profile
- NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care.
- Specific knowledge of clinical care for the elderly.
- Compassionate, warm‑hearted and committed to individualized resident support.
Required skills
- Leadership and team supervision.
- Understanding of medication handling and care planning processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and managerial staff.
