Senior Category Manager – Grocery & Food

About the role

The Senior Category Manager will shape and execute category strategies for the grocery and food portfolio, working closely with national retailers to drive growth and profitability. Based in London, you will act as the key link between the business and its retail partners, delivering insights that support the ambient product range.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour and sales data to identify opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales and supply‑chain teams to ensure cohesive category plans.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with national grocers and key stakeholders.
• Line‑manage one direct report, providing coaching and performance feedback.
• Monitor competitor activity and deliver actionable insights.
• Prepare and present category reviews, recommendations and performance reports.
• Support the design of promotional activities and pricing strategies to maximise profitability.
• Continuously evaluate category performance and adjust tactics as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in buying, category management or sales within the FMCG sector.
• Track record of working with national retail partners.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Strategic mindset focused on achieving business goals.
• Ability to work on‑site in London five days a week.
