Senior Clinical Pharmacist, Formulary and Medicines Optimisation

About the role

This is a full‑time senior position within a large teaching NHS Trust, offering the chance to develop clinical expertise across a wide range of medical conditions while contributing to formulary development and medicines optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Pharmacist in developing the South West London joint formulary and related guidelines.
• Implement national and local medicines guidelines across the Trust.
• Provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service that meets the standards of quality and professional practice for patients, the Pharmacy Department and Integrated Care Boards.
• Participate in seven‑day working and on‑call rotas as required.

Required profile

• Certificate in clinical pharmacy (minimum 12 months completed, working towards 18 months).
• Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
• Full Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
• Management training and experience of staff appraisal.
• Post‑registration UK hospital experience of at least 18 months.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in medicines management/optimisation.

Required skills

• CMM pharmacy system (formerly JAC).
• Medicines management and optimisation.
