About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Property Solicitor to join a well‑established law firm in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of commercial property matters and work closely with an experienced team.

Key responsibilities

• Handle acquisitions and disposals of commercial property.
• Manage landlord and tenant matters, including lease negotiations, renewals, assignments and licences.
• Oversee property development transactions such as site acquisitions and development agreements.
• Structure commercial property finance and secured lending deals.
• Provide asset‑management advice for commercial property portfolios.
• Support corporate transactions that involve commercial property elements.
• Deliver pragmatic, commercially‑focused legal advice across a broad range of property matters.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
• Minimum 6 years post‑qualification experience in commercial property.
• Strong technical expertise across commercial property law.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proven capability to manage complex transactions with minimal supervision.
• Commercial mindset and strong client‑relationship skills.
• Interest in business development and networking; mentoring experience is a plus.
