Senior Credit Risk Technical Specialist - Capital

About the role

The Senior Credit Risk Technical Specialist – Capital is a pivotal technical position within the Risk Modelling & Measurement team. You will translate complex regulatory requirements into clear internal specifications, processes and calculations, supporting the Society’s understanding and management of credit‑risk capital across its lending portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist expertise in credit‑risk capital, regulatory capital interpretation and credit‑risk analytics.
• Translate Basel 3.1 and other regulatory developments into internal specifications and calculation methodologies.
• Own end‑to‑end capital processing and analysis for all lending portfolios, including regulatory returns and RWA reporting.
• Support the delivery of capital insight, CET1 performance monitoring and product development decisions.
• Collaborate with auditors, regulators and senior governance committees to ensure robust decision‑making and compliance.
• Lead technical analysis, provide regulatory interpretation and influence senior stakeholders with evidence‑based insight.

Required profile

• Experienced professional in Credit Risk Capital, Credit Risk Analytics or Regulatory Risk.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, challenge thinking constructively and shape lending and capital decisions.
• Strong analytical judgement and ability to translate technical requirements into business insight.

• Knowledge of risk‑weighted assets (RWA) and capital adequacy frameworks.
