Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Lynx Recruitment is partnering with an established technology consultancy to deliver complex data transformation programmes for enterprise clients. As a Senior Data Engineer you will design, build and optimise modern cloud‑based data platforms while beginning to shape data architecture strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise cloud‑native data platforms, including data lakes, lakehouses and enterprise warehouses.
• Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Collaborate with architects to define technical solutions and future‑state data platforms.
• Contribute to data modelling and overall architecture design.
• Translate business requirements into robust, secure technical solutions.
• Implement best practices for data quality, governance and security.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical best practices.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
• Proven ability to design and deliver modern cloud data solutions.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience handling large data sets.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Genuine interest in progressing into a Data Architecture role.
