Senior Design Architect - Residential

About the role

An established, design-led architecture practice delivering bespoke, high-end residential projects for private clients is seeking a Senior Design Architect. Working closely with the Directors, you will lead the early design stages of prestigious residential projects, developing concepts, guiding planning work and taking schemes through RIBA Stage 3 before coordinating their handover to the delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the concept and developed-design stages from initial client brief through RIBA Stage 3.
• Develop and present proposals using freehand sketches, diagrams and digital modelling.
• Manage planning and listed-building consent work, including drawings, Design and Access Statements and consultant coordination.
• Represent projects in discussions with planning and design officers and coordinate submissions and planning conditions.
• Maintain design quality while coordinating Directors, consultants, junior colleagues and the technical delivery team.

Required profile

• ARB-registered Architect (Part III qualified) with at least five years' post-Part III experience in UK practice.
• Experience leading luxury residential or boutique hospitality projects, ideally valued at £5 million and above.
• Confident working directly with clients, leading workshops and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Outstanding conceptual design with strong freehand sketching, visualisation and presentation skills.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and a passion for bespoke residential architecture.
