Senior Design Engineer

About the role

A motivated Senior Design Engineer is needed to join a global engineering manufacturing client in Winchester. The role offers a competitive salary, generous pension, work‑from‑home Fridays and clear progression towards engineering management.

Key responsibilities

• Produce design schematics, assembly and detail drawings, including cable routing.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and prepare P&IDs using AutoCAD and 2‑D CAD.
• Select appropriate materials, instruments and components for mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Oversee metal fabrication, machining and the modernisation or refurbishment of existing machinery.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on mechanical design experience in engineering industries.
• HND/HNC or a BEng/MEng in Mechanical, Electro‑Mechanical or related engineering.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to European and international sites.
• Based locally in the Winchester area.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or other CAD packages such as AutoCAD).
• AutoCAD and 2‑D CAD for schematics and P&IDs.
• CNC and CAM knowledge (desirable).
• Experience with Bills of Materials and P&ID creation.
