Senior Design Manager

About the role

As a Senior Design Manager you will lead the design process from tender through to handover, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with pre‑construction, project management and quantity surveying teams to turn concepts into built assets across education, leisure, commercial and high‑end residential sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Support pre‑construction by contributing to bids and tenders for upcoming projects.
• Identify design opportunities and challenges, coordinating innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure buildability, quality and commercial success.
• Lead coordination across clients, consultants and supply‑chain partners.
• Oversee design delivery for projects typically ranging from £5M to £20M.

Required profile

• Proven experience in design management within the construction industry.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving mindset and a passion for delivering high‑quality design.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

• BIM (Building Information Modelling)
