Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a consulting client’s DevOps team in Newcastle upon Tyne. In this technical leadership position you will design, build and maintain environments and tools that enable rapid development and testing of new features.

Key responsibilities

• Work as part of a DevOps team in a technical leadership role to deliver environments and tools supporting development and testing.
• Set up and configure tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube and performance, security and resilience testing tools.
• Create automated processes for continuous integration and continuous testing.
• Automate provisioning of serverless integrations between systems using APIs.
• Implement and manage public and private cloud services.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code and configuration‑management practices.
• Design, set up and orchestrate containerised workloads.
• Support Agile and Lean software delivery methodologies.
• Administer Linux‑based environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering IT environments and tools in a DevOps context.
• Willing and eligible to undergo UK security clearance.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, Agile and Lean delivery practices.
