Senior Director, Medical Strategy Lead - Cardiology / Endocrinology / Nephrology (Obesity)

About the role

IQVIA is looking for a Senior Director, Medical Strategy Lead covering Cardiology, Endocrinology and Nephrology (Obesity). The role provides strategic medical and scientific subject matter expertise to IQVIA, with increasing independence over time. It involves early engagement of potential customers, proposal development for RFPs, bid defence meetings, and acting as a consultant throughout the research and development lifecycle and clinical trials, or as an independent customer solution. Thought leadership activities are strongly encouraged.

Key responsibilities

• Work independently of the therapeutic area head and lead strategic proposal development with the proposal team.
• Lead client proposal bid defence meetings as a medical director and subject matter expert.
• Act as consultant throughout the R&D life cycle and clinical trials, and/or as a standalone independent customer solution.
• Formulate clinical development plans and lead the strategic direction of the Center of Excellence.
• Collaborate across the organisation so that all IQVIA resources are fully leveraged in opportunities.

Required profile

• Typically a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• At least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO setting; CRO candidates should hold a senior strategic role with strong leadership and significant expertise in obesity.
• Terminal degree (MD).
• Board certification in Cardiology, Endocrinology or Nephrology is required.
• Practical knowledge of leading and managing processes, projects and tactics in the R&D therapeutic area.
• Exceptional business knowledge and thought leadership in the field.
• Occasional travel, including national or international travel at least 20% of the time.
