Senior Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response Manager

About the role
The Senior Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) Manager will lead the Trust’s emergency preparedness and business continuity programmes. Working closely with Hospital Leadership Teams, the role ensures statutory compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and the NHS EPRR Framework, delivering a robust approach to incident preparation, response and recovery.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, deliver and assure the Trust’s EPRR and Business Continuity programmes, aligning with national guidance.
- Maintain, review and test the suite of emergency plans, policies and procedures.
- Coordinate a comprehensive training and exercising programme for staff and senior leaders.
- Lead the annual EPRR Core Standards self‑assessment and produce assurance evidence.
- Provide specialist advice to Executive Directors, Hospital Leadership Teams and operational managers.
- Support major incident response, offering expert EPRR guidance to incident command structures.
- Collaborate with Integrated Care Board, NHS England and Local Resilience Forums for multi‑agency planning.
- Ensure incident command facilities, communications systems and emergency equipment are ready for use.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in emergency preparedness, resilience or business continuity within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and NHS EPRR Framework.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills for advising senior leaders and external partners.
