Senior Employment Solicitor (6+ PQE) – Hybrid – Southampton

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Employment Solicitor with at least six years PQE to join our Employment & HR team in Southampton. The role offers a hybrid working model and provides autonomy to manage high‑value, complex employment matters for corporate employer clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contentious employment cases, including Employment Tribunal claims from inception to final hearing.
• Provide strategic, non‑contentious advice on HR issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies and discrimination.
• Draft and review contracts of employment, policies and settlement agreements.
• Support corporate clients with employment‑related aspects of transactions.
• Develop sector expertise and contribute to business development activities.

Required profile

• 6+ years PQE as an employment solicitor, preferably with experience representing employers.
• Proven ability to manage high‑value tribunal claims and day‑to‑day HR matters.
• Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem solving.
• Ambitious and interested in growing a practice within a national firm.

Required skills

• Experience handling Employment Tribunal proceedings.
• Expertise in drafting employment contracts, policies and settlement agreements.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR practice.
