Senior Engineer – Construction & Structures

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our regional build team in Southampton. The role combines planning, delivery and coordination of structures work across a variety of contracts, with the flexibility of remote working and occasional site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Plan works and inspections together with the Contracts and Programme Managers, ensuring delivery against time‑frames and contract KPIs.
• Attend internal and external meetings, provide programme updates and liaise with inspectors and engineers to keep schedules on track.
• Monitor daily programmes, capture notifications, identify critical activities and maintain up‑to‑date scheme registers.
• Track key performance indicators, manage client task requests and develop design‑and‑build delivery programmes for approval.
• Review health‑and‑safety documentation, verify subcontractor risk assessments and oversee completion of safety files and certificates.

Required profile

• HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering with SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• Proven experience in traffic management, highways, rail or London Underground projects.
• Ability to manage multiple schemes simultaneously.
• Full driving licence for site visits.
