About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager (AI) to lead and grow high‑performing engineering teams in an AI‑enabled environment. This people‑focused leadership role emphasizes coaching, influencing technical direction, and embedding AI‑assisted development practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to engineering teams delivering AI‑enabled products and platforms.
• Shape team culture, collaboration, and professional standards as a visible engineering leader.
• Champion the adoption of AI‑assisted development practices, balancing speed with quality and sustainability.
• Partner with senior engineers and technical leads to influence technical direction without being the most senior specialist.
• Help define engineering ways of working, especially where AI introduces new opportunities or constraints.
• Support teams operating in secure or constrained environments, balancing governance with pragmatic delivery.
• Translate technical concepts, architecture, tooling, and AI‑related workflows for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Identify and drive improvements in productivity, resilience, and consistency through better practices and collaboration.
• Guide teams through change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities while keeping focus on outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong background as a software engineer with significant experience as an individual contributor.
• Demonstrated experience leading, supporting, or influencing engineers in delivery environments.
• Practical exposure to AI‑enabled software development, including acceleration and experimentation.
• Curious, adaptable, and resilient mindset with a passion for helping teams learn and evolve.
