Senior Family Solicitor – Head of Department

About the role

Our client, a leading independent multi‑practice law firm in Luton, is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to lead and grow its Family Law department. This senior position offers the chance to shape the practice, build a team, and develop new business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on divorce, financial remedy, cohabitation disputes, child matters, domestic violence, and pre‑/post‑nuptial agreements.
• Mentor and lead junior lawyers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service.
• Drive business development activities and generate new client work.
• Ensure compliance with Lexcel standards and firm policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 4+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in family law.
• Proven track record of business development and client acquisition.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to build a department from the ground up.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Lexcel requirements.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range £55,000‑£80,000 per year.
