Senior Finance Manager – Succession to Financial Controller

About the role

This senior finance manager position offers a clear pathway to a future Financial Controller role. You will work closely with the current Financial Controller to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and to identify improvement opportunities across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly accounts to completion.
• Produce quarterly forecasts and the annual budget.
• Oversee cashbook, purchase and sales ledgers.
• Prepare and submit all tax filings (VAT, duties, payroll tax, corporation tax).
• Support board‑level financial reporting, comparing current trading to budget and prior year.
• Maintain multi‑currency consolidation for four group companies.
• Analyse key financial results and variances.
• Prepare year‑end audit files (December).
• Deliver ad‑hoc project work as required.
• Assist the Financial Controller and handle monthly payroll (Sage 50) and pension processing.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience with multi‑currency, multi‑company consolidations.
• Understanding of standard costing.
• Preferably ACCA qualified.
• Strong organisational, planning and analytical abilities.
• Experience in an accountancy practice moving into manufacturing is ideal.
