Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Orka Financial, an £80m turnover business in a period of transformation, is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to take full ownership of month‑end and year‑end processes. You will work within a team of ten, enjoy a high degree of autonomy and have the chance to mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and issues are resolved.
• Prepare and review journals, accruals, pre‑payments and other adjustments with full supporting documentation.
• Conduct detailed profit and loss reviews, investigate variances and provide clear commentary.
• Maintain balance‑sheet control through timely reconciliations and inter‑company account management.
• Support foreign‑exchange revaluation, fixed‑asset accounting and inventory costing processes.
• Prepare reporting schedules, notes and analysis for group submissions and internal review.
• Deliver quarterly reporting, hard‑close activities and profitability allocation cycles.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Proven experience in senior accounting roles handling month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and mentor junior team members.
