Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

First Achieve Ltd is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex ground investigation projects across Motherwell and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for overseeing site activities, ensuring safety, and delivering high‑quality technical reports to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise ground investigation projects on‑site.
• Oversee drilling rigs and site teams, guaranteeing safe and efficient delivery.
• Conduct soil and rock logging, trial pitting, and in‑situ testing.
• Perform groundwater and gas monitoring and sampling.
• Produce accurate site records and interpretative technical reports.
• Lead health & safety compliance, RAMS, inductions, and overall site safety.
• Maintain direct client liaison throughout project delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydrogeology or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing ground investigation projects and contracts.
• Strong technical report writing and communication abilities.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Full UK driving licence.
