Senior Health Care Support Worker

About the role
The Senior Health Care Support Worker will join Ward 1, a 30‑bed General Older Adult rehabilitation ward at Ayrshire Central Hospital. The role is offered on a permanent or fixed‑term basis and involves a rotational shift pattern of day and night shifts, including weekends.
Key responsibilities
- Provide person‑centred care and therapeutic interventions to support patient rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for older adults.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Contribute to the ward’s daily operations, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
Required profile
- SVQ Level 3 in a healthcare‑related subject or equivalent experience.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Awareness of relevant legislation, policies, and best‑practice guidelines.
- Willingness to undertake further training and personal development.
- Essential: a valid UK driving licence.
