Senior Healthcare Communications Leader – Pharmaceutical & Biotech

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to shape and deliver high‑impact policy and treatment‑focused communications programmes for pharmaceutical and biotech clients in the United Kingdom. The role sits at the strategic level, advising senior stakeholders on complex, often sensitive health topics and creating clear, credible narratives for a wide range of audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of strategic healthcare communications programmes across pharma and biotech.
• Develop policy‑driven and treatment‑focused messaging that influences public debate and supports client reputation.
• Advise senior executives on sensitive subject matter, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Craft and disseminate narratives for patients, regulators, media and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor the UK healthcare landscape to identify opportunities and risks for clients.

Required profile

• Extensive corporate communications experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.
• Strong understanding of the UK healthcare environment and regulatory context.
• Demonstrated ability to operate strategically and handle politically sensitive issues.
• Commercially aware with a track record of influencing senior decision‑makers.
• Experience related to HIV treatment is advantageous.
