Senior Healthcare Support Worker - Treatment Room

About the role

NHS Lanarkshire is recruiting a Senior Healthcare Support Worker for its treatment room. The post holder provides direct patient care as delegated by the registered nurse and works regularly without supervision after training and induction, supporting patients, relatives and carers with a person-centred, safe and effective approach.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient care in support of the registered nurse and report any variations from the usual practice
• Work within organisational policies and procedures to keep working practices safe for patients, colleagues and yourself
• Maintain stock levels of supplies, including special orders, and carry out housekeeping duties in line with policy
• Take part in your personal development plan to keep up your skills and knowledge
• Protect patient and carer confidentiality and respect patient privacy

Required profile

• SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards it, or equivalent experience in a caring environment
• Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary or agency team
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to carry out patient care tasks in a busy environment
• Full, valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence
