Senior HVAC Craftsperson – On-site

About the role

We are seeking a Senior HVAC Craftsperson to join the on‑site team at British Steel in Scunthorpe. The role is hands‑on, based in a heavy‑industrial environment and offers long‑term stability with strong earning potential.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out HVAC maintenance and minor installation work across the site.
• Diagnose faults and ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
• Work independently after an initial onboarding period with support from an experienced engineer.
• Travel around the site using a company vehicle to manage tasks.
• Participate in an on‑call rota (approximately one week in every three‑to‑four weeks) and respond to out‑of‑hours call‑outs.
• Adhere to site safety standards while working in a “dirty” industrial environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HVAC maintenance and installation.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Reliability and flexibility to support the on‑call rota.
• Valid CCSNG Safety Passport (required prior to start).
