Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

As an Infrastructure Engineer Team Lead you will provide senior technical leadership while remaining a hands‑on subject matter expert. You will work primarily on‑site at the customer’s location near Huntingdon, delivering complex infrastructure solutions for a government portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a technical team, providing day‑to‑day direction, coaching, mentoring and performance support.
• Deliver hands‑on infrastructure engineering, troubleshooting and assurance in an Agile environment.
• Support the Normal Change programme and sustain a range of secure systems and services.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies to improve existing solutions.
• Occasionally travel to other Leidos and customer sites as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams while staying technically active.
• Line‑management experience including objective setting, one‑to‑ones and career development.
• Ability to balance people leadership, technical governance and direct delivery.
• Eligibility for DV security clearance (UK national only).

Required skills

• Microsoft and VMware product expertise.
• Virtual infrastructure deployment with vSphere.
• Container platforms such as Tanzu Kubernetes.
• Windows‑based technologies and a working knowledge of Linux.
• SQL Server administration.
• Networking knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet devices.
• Storage solutions experience with NetApp and Dell.
