Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Sixworks is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and deliver secure digital solutions for defence and national security missions. You will work in highly secure, multi‑classification environments where reliability, security and speed of innovation are critical.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve virtualised collaboration and development environments across multiple security classifications.
• Support public‑cloud SaaS offerings (Office 365) and project‑based systems on public, private and hybrid clouds.
• Perform change‑controlled maintenance, patching and hardening of all platforms.
• Monitor and manage ticketing and alerting systems, triage alerts and respond to incidents.
• Identify trends, plan changes and drive stability and performance improvements.
• Provide expert advice to customers and project teams on infrastructure and support aspects.

Required profile

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work collaboratively in a complex technical team.
• Experience operating in protectively marked environments and holding the highest level of UK security clearance.
• Commitment to continuous learning and pursuit of relevant certifications.
