Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Roads & Drainage

About the role

This senior infrastructure position is based in Wigan and offers the chance to lead the design of roads and drainage schemes for residential and commercial developments. You will act as the technical authority, liaise with clients and authorities, and help grow a highly regarded civil engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver highways and drainage designs within programme and budget constraints.
• Lead technical approvals (S104, S38, S278) and negotiate with authorities.
• Ensure all work complies with current UK standards and SuDS requirements.
• Support fee proposals, project budgets and cost control.
• Review technical outputs and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Approximately five years of consultancy experience in civil infrastructure.
• Strong background in roads, drainage and development projects.
• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with MicroDrainage and PDS (or similar software).
• Solid understanding of SuDS and hydraulic principles.
