Senior Java Developer – Banking Domain

About the role

Infosys is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join its Banking technology team in Chester. You will design, develop and maintain high‑performance API services and backend components that enable secure payment processing and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain Java‑based microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Integrate applications with databases, messaging platforms, third‑party services and event‑driven architectures.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA engineers and operations to deliver resilient, scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise application performance, scalability and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on software development and enterprise application delivery.
• Proven expertise in Java development, Spring Framework, Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Solid understanding of OOP principles, design patterns and data structures.
• Experience building highly available, distributed backend systems in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimise performance.
