Senior Landlord & Tenant Solicitor – Leasehold Transactions (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to cover maternity leave, focusing on leasehold transactions within our in‑house legal team. The role is full‑time, fixed‑term and based in Southend‑on‑Sea with hybrid working available.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of leasehold matters including lease extensions, collective enfranchisements, deeds of variation and licences.
• Handle residential property transactions and provide clear, commercial legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the business to facilitate property deals.
• Support junior team members and liaise with external solicitors and advisers.
• Maintain accurate case‑management records and ensure efficient progression of matters.
• Assist with additional property‑related legal work as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or Licensed Conveyancer with ideally 5+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Substantial experience in residential property and transactional leasehold work, preferably from private practice or an in‑house team.
• Demonstrable experience with lease extensions, collective enfranchisements, deeds of variation and related landlord‑tenant matters.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage a busy workload and deliver commercially focused advice.
• Previous supervisory experience is advantageous but not essential.
