Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

You will join a two‑person ML team building a forecasting system that makes half‑hourly demand predictions for multiple restaurant chains. The models already work, and the challenge now is to scale them from a handful of clients to hundreds while maintaining reliability and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Own client launches end‑to‑end: validate data, select models, run UAT, go live and monitor performance.
• Participate in client calls, build relationships and ensure predictions translate into the right amount of food being prepared.
• Scale the forecasting system across many customers, handling feedback loops and a highly variable environment.

Required profile

• Enjoy taking full ownership of product outcomes from idea to production.
• Prioritise simple, user‑facing solutions over overly complex designs.
• Excited to collaborate with industry experts to understand real‑world business constraints.

Required skills

• Production ML experience with messy data, graceful failure handling and monitoring.
• Strong ML fundamentals and ability to justify feature and model choices.
• Client‑facing deployment experience, comfortable communicating with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proficient Python programming, including numpy and scikit‑learn.
• Daily use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot.
