Senior Manager Accountant – Outsourced Finance

About the role

This senior position sits within a fast‑growing accountancy practice in Guildford, supporting a diverse portfolio of SMEs and owner‑managed businesses. You will act as a trusted financial advisor, delivering strategic insight and driving performance across the outsourcing function.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to SME clients, shaping growth strategies and performance improvement.
• Support senior management teams and boards with budgeting, forecasting and management‑accounting processes.
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, VAT and HMRC obligations.
• Lead regular client meetings, building long‑term relationships and acting as the primary point of contact.
• Collaborate with internal audit, tax and payroll teams to deliver integrated services.
• Identify financial risks, implement controls and mentor client finance teams.
• Manage and develop members of the outsourcing team.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
• Significant experience within an outsourcing function of an accountancy practice.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and experience working with UK SMEs across multiple sectors.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
