Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

About the role

As we continue to improve the pace and breadth of our reporting, we are looking for a highly experienced accounting professional to join our team as we build the Finance function of the future. Reporting to the Director of Group Reporting, the successful candidate will provide accounting advice under IFRS globally across all functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accounting advice on IFRS topics including revenue recognition, financial instruments, software capitalisation, leases and impairment.
• Lead the Technical Accounting team and oversee calculation of complex global accounting topics.
• Determine group accounting policies, develop internal guidance manuals and decide on accounting for new products and geographic expansion.
• Assess and implement new and amended accounting standards.
• Communicate with senior internal stakeholders and lead complex accounting discussions with external auditors, Treasury, Tax and legal entity controllers.
• Assist financial controllers with financial statement preparation, local GAAP advice and disclosure requirements.
• Continuously improve technical accounting processes and adopt best practices.

Required profile

• Professionally qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with 8+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Financial services experience and in‑depth knowledge of IFRS 15, IFRS 9 and IFRS 2.
• Experience leading a team and delivering high‑quality accounting analysis memos.
• Proven experience in preparation, review or audit of IFRS financial statements, including complex disclosure notes.
• Experience working in an international environment and liaising with external auditors.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with US GAAP is desirable but not essential.
