Senior Marine Solicitor

About the role

Our client, a leading marine law practice in Plymouth, is seeking a qualified Senior Marine Solicitor with 5‑6 years post‑qualification experience. The role offers the chance to manage an independent caseload, develop client relationships and progress towards a Legal Director position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage marine law cases from strategy through to resolution, including billing and compliance.
• Provide focused legal advice and draft documents in line with client instructions.
• Research, analyse and prosecute matters while adhering to SRA guidelines.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, stakeholders and suppliers.
• Develop new business opportunities and nurture existing client relationships.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• 5‑6 years PQE in marine or related commercial law.
• Strong negotiation and case‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both face‑to‑face and virtual.
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
• Self‑motivated, organised and adaptable to change.
