Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well‑established engineering consultancy in Milton Keynes. The role offers a competitive salary up to £60,000, a strong benefits package, and the chance to lead complex building‑services projects while acting as a key client interface.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion.
• Act as the primary client liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships.
• Develop design briefs, project‑specific criteria and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
• Oversee tender processes, budgets and commercial aspects of project delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality design and installation.
• Support and mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mechanical design within the Building Services sector.
• Proven ability to manage projects and lead design delivery.
• Knowledge of current British Standards and industry regulations.
• Strong client‑facing experience and commercial awareness.
• Highly organised, detail‑focused and able to handle multiple projects autonomously.
