Senior Medicines Advice Pharmacist

About the role

The Senior Medicines Advice Pharmacist will join the Maudsley Psychiatric Medicines Advice Service at the Maudsley Hospital. You will provide expert advice on psychotropic medicines to inpatient and community mental health teams, support research initiatives and help develop prescribing guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy advice on psychotropic medicines to wards and community teams across Croydon, Southwark and Lambeth.
• Contribute to the Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines in Psychiatry and other research publications.
• Provide clear medication information to staff and patients to improve understanding and evidence‑based care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
• Support the development and dissemination of the Maudsley Psychiatric Medicines Advice Service.

Required profile

• Confident and decisive pharmacist with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of psychotropic medicines and their use in psychiatric settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of psychotropic medication classes.
