Senior Mobile Developer – .NET MAUI/Xamarin

About the role

Our client, an established software business in Newcastle upon Tyne, is seeking a Senior Mobile Developer to join a close‑knit team delivering cross‑platform mobile applications. The role is hands‑on, focusing on .NET MAUI and Xamarin development while collaborating with backend engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain commercial mobile applications using .NET MAUI and Xamarin.
• Investigate and resolve issues across mobile and backend codebases.
• Design, develop and enhance new functionality.
• Write high‑quality, maintainable and scalable code.
• Optimise application performance and improve existing components.
• Collaborate with fellow developers to deliver projects on schedule.
• Contribute ideas and technical improvements throughout the development lifecycle.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Required profile

• 6+ years of commercial C#/.NET development experience.
• Recent experience building applications with .NET MAUI and/or Xamarin.Forms.
• Strong knowledge of the MVVM design pattern and XAML.
• Experience creating custom controls, UI components, and using custom renderers or handlers.
• Proven ability to integrate third‑party native SDKs into .NET MAUI or Xamarin apps.
• Excellent debugging, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
