Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant (Hybrid, UK)

About the role

Orano Limited is seeking a Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant to work on a hybrid basis from Warrington or Abingdon. You will lead and deliver high‑quality nuclear safety documentation across the full lifecycle of nuclear projects for a range of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultancy that exceeds client expectations for technical excellence, quality, timeliness and cost.
• Offer nuclear safety advice within multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with engineers, human‑factors specialists and other experts.
• Develop and present robust, reasoned arguments and perform technical checking and verification against compliance and QA standards.
• Liaise with stakeholders on technical progress and guide documents through early client‑governance stages.
• Support internal and client stakeholder management and work with Business Development to identify new opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional engineering or technical specialist experience.
• Degree or equivalent in engineering, science or a related field.
• Proven understanding of safety case production processes for multiple clients.
• Experience managing complex safety cases for various plant types at different lifecycle stages, capable of working independently within a team.
• Familiarity with de‑commissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive material transport, licensing and radioactive waste.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo security vetting.
